Cracker Jack Ditches the Toy Prize for Digital Download Games

If you are over the age of 30, you might remember that the caramel popcorn snack Cracker Jack is known for having a tiny prize in each box or package.

Those days are over with the company’s decision to end the 100-year-old tradition, and give customers a scannable sticker instead, starting this month.

Purchasers can use the code to access one of four online games, the company that makes it said in a news release.

Consumers have to first download the Blippar app to get the four games: Dot Dash, Dance Cam, Get Carded and Baseball Star;

“The new Prize Inside allows families to enjoy their favorite baseball moments through a new one-of-a-kind mobile experience, leveraging digital technology to bring the iconic Prize Inside to life,” the release says.

Frito-Lay will also rebranding the snack’s logo, Sailor Jack and his dog Bingo.  All brand new everything, apparently.
