Millennials get a bad rap in the workforce as being too entitled and not willing to work their way up to the top or respect process and their elders. The 18-35 demographic is also among the most studied generation of late.

Insurance company The Hartford recently released its 2014 Millennial Leadership Survey which showed that despite all the bad press Millennials are leaders and 78 percent of those surveyed already consider themselves as leaders.

We sat down with New York Times best-selling author Lindey Pollak, who penned “Becoming the Boss: New Rules for the Next Generation of Leaders” .

She offers unpacks some of the results of that survey and offers millenials some workplace advice on how to ask for a raise, deal with work/life balance and addresses how today’s employers should interact with them to maximize best productivity.
