Despite its current ubiquitness, Social Media has only been a thing for 10 years now. It’s not even a teenager in human years yet. These days, almost one third of the world population is on social media – 31% to be exact. The highest usage comes from North and South America, at 59% and 50% of the populations respectively.
But that number is changing for regions like Central and South Asia and Africa where less than 10% of the population is on social media, as access to internet via smartphone rapidly become available.
