Not the Dislike Button You Expected, Facebook unveils new Reactions Icons

Today, Facebook users in Spain and Ireland will get more options than just “like” or thumbs up.

Mark Zuckerberg promised another option to “like” last month and many thought they finally that dislike or thumbs down icon they wanted.

Nope. Facebook  is releasing icons called “Reactions.” It is testing the feature out with a small group of users in those countries first.

The new icons express love, laughter, happiness, shock, sadness and anger, a company representative said Thursday.

Zuckerberg himself introduced them on his Facebook page

To see the option, mobile users will press -and hold down the “like”button and desktop users will hover over it.

The new options will then pop up similar to the different shades of emojis.

A post will note the number of each reactions received.
For years, users complained about only having one option even when someone posts bad news or tragedy.
