It’s a good thing that in 2015, more people are optimistic about their chances at business so much so that more are striking out on their own at an earlier age and increasing rate.

The plight of still living at home or being in college didn’t stop the earliest innovators and tech pioneers.

A recent infographic Washington State University reveals that Steve Jobs,  Larry Page, Sergey Brin, Mark Zuckerberg, Michael Dell, William Hewlett and David Backard all launched their respective businesses in their garages, dorm rooms or living rooms. Today, the companies they founded are multimillion dollar companies.

The millennial generation is already following suit as 54% plant to launch their own business or will soon. Business school students aren’t going straight to work for firms after graduation given that 29% of them anticipate running their own companies at some time in the future.

Government, philanthropic and private capital markets are stepping up to fund these big ideas. There was over 24 million dollars offered to upstarts at 110 international business plan competitions in recent years.
