Google wants to be the everything tech company.
The tech giant announced last Friday that it is partnering with the classic denim company, Levi Strauss and assembling a team of designers to develop tech enabled clothing. The endeavor is Project Jacquard after the Frenchman who invented one specific type of loom.
The partnership is expected to make clothing that has specially woven fabric with touch-screen control capabilities. A small group of Googlers from the Advanced Technology and Projects division are leading the effort.
The tech fabric could be shaped into anything from suits to dresses. Such technology may have important medical significance such as heart monitoring.
