Google, Apple and other companies are urging the US to protect user data.
However, this is in direct conflict with US law enforcement agencies, such as the FBI, which would like to have easier access to user data to combat crimes. Further, they insist data encryption will also open up a a gateway for criminals to communicate with each other without fear of law enforcement oversight.
